Herniated disc pain management



The use of ice may help reduce lumbar pain and muscle spasm at the moment. Painful muscle spasms can be eliminated with ice or heat. Significant signs indicating the need for immediate referral to a physical therapist include muscle weakness, sensory changes, diminish reflexes in the lower extremity and abnormal bladder or bowel function. Minimized load on the spine by avoiding activities that involve impact, lifting, bending, twisting and prolonged sitting and standing. It is important that you take muscle relaxants, passive exercise and gentle stretching. Most of all please loose a little of those fats and maintain your ideal body weight. This is what I’ve been telling about diet, nutrition and exercise. There are more benefits you gain from it than reasons for taking it for granted and actually neglecting it.
